Websites must be designed to be accessible so as not to prevent people with disabilities from using them.

  • Structured arrangement of content elements
  • Creation of alternative texts and titles for all non-text elements (images, diagrams, videos, etc.)
  • Graphics and text should be understandable without colors.
  • Explanatory texts for links (not: "Click here")
  • Use easily readable texts (avoid filler words)
  • Meaningful naming of forms and documents

Creating alternative texts

An alternative text helps visually impaired people to perceive multimedia content. Therefore, there should always be a short description, e.g. of an image content.

This can be entered under the tab Media, alternative text.

Link destinations

As can be seen in the above image, there are three links with the link text "more". Same link texts are useful only if they refer to the same content.

Linked texts must:

  • be unambiguous
  • refer to the target

"Click here" etc. should not be used.

In the figure below, a unique text is linked with destination, indicating the target.
