Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

The more high-quality and informative the content of a page is, the better it will be ranked in the search engine. However, Google's algorithms are able to judge whether a page is really informative, regardless of specifically specified keywords. However, keywords are helpful for our search engine.

The goal of SEO

  • Optimization of the positioning of the website in search engines
  • Increase in the number of potential visitors to the website

Guide to successful SEO

Page title

The page title should be concise, succinct and appropriate in terms of content. It should contain the most important keyword.

Use "navigation title" in Typo3, if the title itself becomes too long and unhantastic.

[Translate to englisch:] Überschrift

Create a heading with layout 1 on the page.

This should be as meaningful as the page title.

SEO tab

In the SEO tab, the title for search engines and a description can be stored.

Here the same applies as for the page title, it should be concise, short and suitable in content. It should also contain the most important keyword.

Metadata tab

Under the Metadata tab, the content of a page can be described in more detail. However, the description should not contain more than 140-160 characters.

Keywords, which are to be separated with commas, can also be used, but this does not matter here.

Further information

  • Using keywords in the texts with which you want your page to be found.
  • Avoid writing in images.
    • If you do, put everything that is in the image in the alternative text of the image.
  • Putting captions with keywords that make sense as much as possible.
  • Assign meaningful file names to images.
  • Consider accessibility and set an alternative text for each image and a meaningful title for each link.
    • No "Click here." linked to here.
    • Better "To the event's website" (link the whole text and set an appropriate link title in the link's properties).
  • Link to other pages.
