Teaser

Purpose & Usage

Teasers represent an element for navigation. Page visitors expect a link to the page structures in the content of the web page. The main menu is used especially mobile only in case of emergency. For this reason, our pages have teasers of their subpages at the bottom of the page by default. Due to the uniformity, this has a strong habituation effect for page visitors.

Please only remove the teasers if you link to your lower page structures in the content itself in a particularly user-friendly and high-quality manner. Then please make sure that there is a full navigation path through the content to each subpage.

Successful teaser texts

The more interesting your teaser text, the higher the probability that the teaser will be clicked and the page behind it will be visited.

A good teaser text tells the page visitor what content awaits him on the linked page. Ideally, it is a concise introduction or summary.

Other suggestions

  • If the teaser contains a question, the content must answer it.
  • Do not make announcements that are not fulfilled
  • Write the teaser when the web page is ready
  • Active instead of passive
  • Direct instead of indirect speech
  • Present tense instead of past tenseCaesura by colons or dashes
  • Avoid subordinate clauses as far as possible
  • Limit teasers to max.
  • three to four short sentences
  • No accumulation of characters +++, !!!, ---, >>>,...
