Mount Network Drive under Linux

You can access any network drive you have permissions for either on campus or remotely from home.
The following instructions explain how to mount a network drive under Windows Linux.

Prerequisites

  • To access the network drive from home, a VPN connection is required.
  • You need access rights to the network folder that is to be integrated as a network drive.

Connect to server

Click on "Files". Now select "Other Locations". Under "Connect to server", enter a valid network path like "smb://files.rptu.de/..." and click on "Connect".

Login

You will now be asked to enter your username, domain and password.

Enter the information as follows.

  • Connect As Registered User
  • Username: Enter your RPTU account name here (without „rptu.de“).
  • Domain: uni-kl.de
  • Password: Enter your RPTU password here.
  • Select „Remember forever“ at the bottom.
