RHRZ-PKI user certificates

Every member at RPTU can independently create a user certificate via "Gèant TCS". With a certificate, you can sign and encrypt e-mails or digitally sign documents. The simplified collection of certificates via Single Sign-On (Shibboleth) is possible if:

  • there is sufficient identity verification for employees (e.g. via contract conclusion)
  • an identity check has been successfully completed for students or other employees at the RZ Service Center

As soon as this has been entered, you can create your user certificate yourself.

The information on creating the certificate can be found in these instructions.

RHRZ-PKI Group certificates

For functional e-mail addresses, so-called group certificates can be requested that only contain the e-mail address. Those responsible can request the certificate by sending a digitally signed email to rz-ra(at)rptu.de. An invitation e-mail will then be sent to the functional e-mail address, which the person responsible can use to retrieve the certificate themselves.

DFN-PKI security level Global

As announced, user certificates can no longer be issued in the DFN-PKI "Security Level Global" as of August 30, 2023. All existing certificates will of course remain valid until their regular expiration date.
