All Rhineland-Palatinate colleges and universities are organized in the Rhineland-Palatinate Computer Centre Alliance (RARP). The purpose of RARP is to support all members of these institutions in the provision of IT infrastructures and to make better use of resources by offering centralized services.

Server virtualization
For employees - nationwide - for a fee
As a flexible method of outsourcing complete servers, we offer the option of operating virtual machines (VM) in our virtualization cluster. We are happy to provide support in defining the RAM, CPUs and storage equipment.
This service is subject to a charge; one "small" VM per employee is available free of charge.

High Performance Computing (HPC)
For researchers - state-wide - free of charge
All academic staff at universities in Rhineland-Palatinate can use our high-performance computer "Elwetritsch" as part of the AHRP(https://www.ahrp.info) to carry out complex simulations or time-consuming calculations.

Tape backup
For IT employees - nationwide - subject to a charge
For long-term archiving of large amounts of data, we offer a tape backup based on IBM Spectrum Protect (formerly: Tivoli).

NFS backup
For IT employees - nationwide - for a fee
In order to also offer solutions for data management platforms (such as veeam, Rubrik, ...), we also provide NFS shares directly as a flexible backup target.

PBS backup
For IT employees - nationwide - for a fee
We provide a Proxmox backup server for backing up Proxmox PVE-based virtualization solutions. This can be used either as a primary backup server or as a sync target for a local PBS server.

SSH backup
For employees - nationwide - free of charge
We offer access via SSH to conveniently back up small amounts of data. Common clients are already supported on the server side (rsync, obnam, borg), others can be requested.

For employees and students - nationwide - free of charge
Gitlab is a version management software and is used in software development to keep defined code states and, of course, the associated documentation in one place.

Mattermost
For employees and students - nationwide - free of charge
teamwork.rarp-kl.de is a modern chat platform that enables teamwork in real time on a wide range of devices. Mattermost is the underlying software.
You can log in via your internet browser or download the Mattermost app for use on your desktop computer or mobile device.

Jitsi

Jitsi is an open source video conferencing application with high quality and low latency.
The application was developed for ad-hoc video conferences. The more participants you have on a call, the more resources you need for your hardware.

RPTU RDR "Research Data Repository" is an institutional research data repository at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau that enables the publication of research data. This repository is based on InvenioRDM and supports the FAIR principles.
