The full name of the computer center is "Regional University Computing Center Kaiserslautern-Landau".
Regional in the name means that the computer center is also there for other universities in Rhineland-Palatinate.
The computer center has the short name RHRZ.
The computer center has two locations: in Kaiserslautern and in Landau.
What does the computer center do?
The computer center takes care of technology at the university.

How do I get an RPTU account?
New students receive a letter.
The letter contains an Internet address and a secret number.
New employees receive the internet address and secret number from their boss.
You can get the RPTU account on the website with the internet address.
You need the secret number for this.
How do I access the Internet?
There is WLAN with the name eduroam on the RPTU campus.
This is how you connect:
- Switch on WLAN on your device.
- Select eduroam from the list.
- Enter your RPTU username and password.
- Confirm the entry to connect.

What is e-mail and how do I use it?
Email is a message that you write on your computer and then send to other people.
You can also write emails on your cell phone.
Email is sent via the internet.
Your RPTU account also has an e-mail address.
Other people can write e-mails to you at this address.
Your e-mail address is your RPTU account with "@rptu.de" appended. Example: mu77ter(at)rptu.de
If you are a student, you can read your e-mail on the website https://mail.rptu.de.
If you work at RPTU, you can read your e-mail on the website https://email.uni-kl.de.

Yes, the computer center offers training courses. Example:

What is important about security for your RPTU account and on the internet?
- Keep passwords secret: Don't give your password to anyone.
- Distrust emails: Do not click on any links in an e-mail. Search the website yourself.
- Attachments: You can send other documents with an e-mail. Only open these if you trust the person who sent them to you.
- Use secure websites: Look out for "https" in the web address.
