Stata

Stata is a comprehensive statistical software package for use in research and development. Stata offers a wide range of high-quality statistical methods for all disciplines. In particular, researchers from the fields of sociology, economics, political and social science as well as epidemiology and other medical disciplines will find the methods they need and more in Stata.

1. what license(s)/rights of use do we hold?

We can currently only offer you Stata single user licenses.

If you are interested in other licenses (e.g. network licenses), please contact us.


Single user licenses:

  • No license keys are managed here via our RHRZ license servers.
  • Use from outside the TU is possible at any time.
  • These are personal named-user licenses.
  • You have a triple installation right per license under the following conditions:
    - All maximum three installations run under the same name.
    - The software may not be used simultaneously.

2. who is authorized to use the Stata software?

  1. All members (students, employees) of RPTU. No network licenses are available for students. Since the use of Stata is generally subject to a fee, students can only obtain usage rights via their teaching area.
  2. For licensing reasons,other groups of people and institutions may not use the software provided by us.

In this case, please contact your software supplier directly.

Everyone who uses the software provided by us is personally responsible for ensuring that the software is only used in accordance with the scope specified in the license conditions. Please read these carefully.

3. on which hardware can the Stata software be used?

We currently only offer the option of local single-user installation.

For local installation, the download is available in the service portal.

There you will find all the necessary information on licensing.

4 What are the costs of using the Stata software?

The use of this software is generally subject to a charge.

We only pass on the actual license costs per license to each user.

We require the written consent of the respective cost center owner for this.
