New features for the use of Microsoft Office at the TUK
Dr. Markus Hillenbrand03. August 2021
As part of the new Microsoft Campus and School Agreement, we can now provide TUK employees and students with Office 365 (from the Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise) for study purposes or for their official duties.
If you previously used Office Professional Plus (OPP), please note that the conditions for the use of Office Professional Plus by employees have also changed with the new framework agreement. Only one installation per employee is now possible, on a work device that this person uses as the main user. (see www.rhrk.uni-kl.de/microsoft/microsoft-campus-agreement)
To be able to use Office 365 in future, for example on the RHRK remote desktop servers or on your work laptop, activate your Microsoft 365 account in the RHRK service portal(https://serviceportal.rhrk.uni-kl.de):
Under the menu item "Microsoft 365 Apps", activation will give you your M 365 account name (ending in @mslic.uni-kl.de) and the corresponding password. Make a note of this login data directly in a safe place! If you are asked to enter login data when opening an Office application, use this pseudonymized M 365 account. Your RHRK account will not work at this point.
On the remote desktop servers(terminal servers) of the RHRK, the changeover to Office 365 will take place in the next few days. You will then only be able to use Microsoft Office there with your activated M 365 account.
Adapted installation files and information on the (data protection) adjustments required for use at TUK can be found in the service portal.
If you do not have administrator rights on your devices, please contact your IT supervisor so that they can set up Office 365 on your second or third devices or, if you no longer wish to use Microsoft Office on one of your devices in the future, uninstall any existing Office Professional Plus installation.
In central facilities managed by RHRK, the changeover is automatic.
