1. download file

Download the .iso (image) file for your respective operating system from the RHRZ Servicepoint (example - Windows: SPSS_Statistics_2X_win.iso).

Note:
You are offered several versions as an option, you can freely choose the SPSS version. If in doubt, you can always use the latest version of SPSS.

The installation is demonstrated here using an older version of SPSS.

2. integrate file

By right-clicking on the downloaded file - "Deploy" (from WIN 8), a virtual drive is created on your computer on which this .iso file can be played. With older operating systems, this is possible with a utility program (e.g. Virtual Clone Drive).

Now run the setup.exe file.

Call up installation

Once you have done this, you will be taken to the setup start screen. If you want to start the installation, select the function "Install IBM SPSS Statistics 29".

4. confirmation of the license agreement

The next step explains that the product is license-protected.

Once you have read this and selected "Next", the license agreement will appear. If you agree to the terms and conditions, accept them if you wish to continue with the installation.

5. install additional accessories (optional)

After confirmation, the option to install the "Essentials for Python" integrated in the program also appears.

Confirm this with "Yes" and further license agreements will follow. Read and confirm these to continue the installation.

6. select storage location

Please check whether you have enough space on the hard disk on which you want to install the program. If the specified directory is OK, please click on "Next" and confirm the installation start. The installation will start.

7. information on the license

After completing the installation, you still need to carry out the licensing.

There are 2 options for this.

Option 1:

In Windows, search for "IBM SPSS Statistics 29 License Authorization Wizard" and start it.

If you click on "Next", you will be taken to the point where you should specify which license you are using. Here you have the choice between a network license and a single license. Please select this accordingly.

If you select the network license, you will be asked for the name of the license manager. In this case, please enter the name"licserv-a.rz.rPTU.de".

After confirmation, licensing is complete.

Option 2 (with network license)

Search the folder "IBM - SPSS - Statistics - 29" for the file "spssprod" and open it.

Enter the name of the license manager "licserv-a.rz.rPTU.de" under "DeamonHost". Save the file. Licensing is now complete.

Important note

For the network license, it is necessary to activate your computer in a firewall. This activation is possible for up to 24 hours and must be carried out again after this time before using SPSS. Further information can be found at:
