The respective license term runs from 01.10. of the current year to 31.09. of the following year.

Please note that the license usage prices of the new SPSS licenses are expected to change from 01.10. onwards. Regardless of when the SPSS licenses are ordered within the current license term, the full annual price for the SPSS license must always be paid.

Orders for SPSS licenses with a term from 01.10.24 - 30.09.25 are currently being accepted.

We would like to point out that we will probably only receive the licenses with the new term from 01.10. shortly before 01.10.

Since the SPSS23 licenses are no longer supported by IBM, we will no longer offer SPSS23 licenses from 01.10.2022. We ask for your understanding.

And we would like to point out that from version SPSS28 onwards NO SPSS-LINUX-Client will be delivered by IBM anymore.

When ordering single-user licenses, we currently generally provide you with one license key for SPSS 30 and one license key for SPSS 29 for each license ordered. For each license ordered, you must decide whether you want to use/install SPSS 30 OR SPSS 29. However, the use/installation of both versions (SPSS 30 and SPSS 29) for one ordered license is NOT permitted.

The demand for SPSS licenses at the TU has risen sharply and we can only satisfy all requests cost-effectively by redistributing as many network licenses as possible.

As a result, all students can now use these licenses free of charge for one year on their private devices or in classrooms. We are making every effort to further increase the convenience of using the license server for network licenses.

The current license year begins on 01.10. of the current license year and ends on 30.09. of the following year, i.e. from 01.10.2025, for example, new licenses must then be ordered by you. Please place your order for the new license year.

1. as the SPSS licenses available to students for purely study purposes are free of charge, they can download the software directly from our download portal.
However, if you use SPSS e.g. in the context of a HIWI activity, the licenses are subject to a fee.

2. employees will be asked to fill in the SPSS order form. After ordering, employees can also download the software directly from our download portal.

For the network license, enter licserv-a.rz.rptu.de as the license server. The computer(s) must then be activated in a firewall. You can find information on this at

Alternatively, you can tell us the IP range for activation, which we will then permanently activate for you.

For changes to an existing network installation, change (Windows) the spssprod.inf file (as administrator) in the SPSS installation directory and, if you also use AMOS, also in the AMOS installation directory and enter the license server as DaemonHost there.

The Windows remote desktop servers (terminal servers) are equipped with the SPSS software, which can be used there by authorized users without having to install it themselves. All you need to access your personal Windows desktop is an RPTU account and an internet connection.
