Server certificates via the ACME protocol

Server certificates can be requested from HARICA via the DFN-PKI service. HARICA is part of the Greek university network GUnet.

Server administrators require accreditation from their institution. For this purpose, a signed e-mail from the management of a department or institution to the participant service rz-ra(at)rptu.de is sufficient to confirm that the server administrator with <first name>, <last name> and <e-mail address> is authorized to apply for server certificates. This accreditation remains valid until he/she leaves the company or until it is revoked.

An ACME account is created to obtain server certificates via the ACME protocol. To do this, please send a short e-mail to rz-ra(at)rptu.de stating the domains for which server certificates are to be requested. We will send the necessary information and a certbot example in an encrypted e-mail.

For teams that jointly take care of the certificates for servers, a joint ACME account may be sufficient. An ACME account can be used to apply for any certificates in the registered domains. Therefore, the data of the ACME account must be protected and must not be passed on.
