Autodesk GmbH produces software for computer-aided design (CAD), e.g. AutoCAD, and computer animation.

Autodesk has recently activated free access to education licenses for science and research via the Autodesk Academic Resource Center.

Who is entitled to use Autodesk software in the Education Program?

• Students, employees/teachers of the TU can register with Autodesk in the Autodesk Academic Resource Center and download all software available there free of charge and install it on their personal or official end devices.
  Everyone who uses the software provided by Autodesk is personally responsible for ensuring that the software is only used in accordance with the scope specified in the license conditions. Please read them carefully. Autodesk offers the free software only for "research and teaching" tasks/applications. This term is interpreted very narrowly by Autodesk, e.g. the drawing of signposts, site plans of the university or information signs are not covered by these licenses.
  
  
• The RHRZ also offers all organizational units of the TU some older Autodesk versions as free network licenses for installation in their pool rooms. These are the following Autodesk versions.
  - Autodesk AutoCAD Design Suite Ultimate New
  - Autodesk Building Design Suite Ultimate
  - Autodesk Entertainment Creation Suite
  - Autodesk Facotory Design Suit Ultimate 2017
  - Autodesk Master Education Suite
  - Autodesk SketchBook Pro for Enterprise
  
  Please note that these older versions will no longer be updated by the RHRZ. Authorized organizational units will receive all necessary information for the installation of these network licenses in our download portal. In this case, your computer must be activated in our firewall in order to use the software.

  The RHRZ only provides the free education licenses described above to all authorized persons .

To use all applications and cases that do not comply with the license conditions of the Education Licenses, commercial versions of Autodesk must be purchased on your own responsibility. These are available e.g. from authorized specialist dealers, a suggestion from Autodesk can be found here.
