Search engine optimization (SEO)

The higher the quality and more informative the content of a page is, the better it will rank in the search engine. However, Google's algorithms are able to judge whether a page is really informative, regardless of the specific keywords used. However, keywords are helpful for our search engine.

The aim of SEO

  • Optimizing the positioning of the website in search engines
  • Increasing the number of potential visitors to the website

Guide to successful SEO

Page title

The page title should be concise, succinct and appropriate in terms of content . It should contain the most important keyword .

Use"navigation titles" in Typo3 if the title itself is too long and unwieldy.

Heading

Create _one_ heading with layout 1 on the page.

This should be as meaningful as the page title.

SEO tab

The title for search engines and a description can be stored in the SEO tab.

The same applies here as for the page title: it should be concise, succinct and appropriate in terms of content . It should also contain the most important keyword .

Metadata tab

The content of a page can be described in more detail under the Metadata tab. However, the description should not contain more than 140-160 characters.

Keywords can also be used, which must be separated by commas, but this is irrelevant here.

Further information

  • Use keywords in the texts with which your page is to be found.
  • Avoid using text in images.
    • If you do, write everything on the image in the alternative text of the image.
  • Set captions with keywords that make as much sense as possible.
  • Assign meaningful file names to images.
  • Pay attention to accessibility and set an alternative text for each image and a meaningful title for each link.
    • No "Click here." linked to here
    • Better "To the event website" (link the entire text and set a suitable link title in the link properties)
