New RPTU account names

In a further digitization step, the creation of new RPTU accounts will be fully automated. This will also result in changes to the newly created account names.

Account names of existing RPTU accounts will not be changed. You can therefore continue to use your RPTU account as before and also enjoy the benefits of the changeover.

Account names are generated fully automatically for newly created RPTU accounts.

This is how the new account names are formed:
kvkzzkvk (k = consonant, v = vowel, z = number), e.g. "bac42def".

A new account name therefore consists of three blocks, first 3 letters, then a two-digit number and finally another 3 letters.

You use the account name to log in to the various computer systems at RPTU, e.g. when logging in to the remote desktop servers of the RHRZ.

As before, every personal RPTU account has an associated e-mail address in the form "accountname@rhrk.uni-kl.de".
In future, you will also have the option of choosing an alternative e-mail address (an e-mail alias) via the website https://accounts.rhrk.uni-kl.de. The website suggests various common options based on your first name and surname.

You use your e-mail alias for communication by e-mail so that external parties can assign the e-mail address directly to you.

Speed up the account application process

New RPTU accounts are now created in a fully automated process . This significantly speeds up the process and the accounts are available to our new students and employees more quickly.

Lifelong unique account

The new format of RPTU account names eliminates the need to reuse account names. This means that your RPTU account can easily be used as a unique identifier for you (even in more and more systems outside RPTU).

No problems with name changes

If you change your name, for example due to marriage or divorce, you can simply change your e-mail alias via the website.You can continue to use your RPTU account as usual.

For new employees in your organizational unit, you can simply apply for the required RPTU account at https://accounts.rhrk.uni-kl.de as before. The account application is then forwarded digitally to the person responsible for approval. A TAN is created when the application is submitted, which the new colleague can use to activate the new RPTU account immediately after approval.
