1. open Thunderbird and click on Extras in the menu bar and then on Account settings.
2. click on Account actions and then on Add e-mail account.
3. enter your name, your e-mail address and your RHRZ password. Then click on Set up manually.
4. fill in the fields for the incoming and outgoing mail server as shown in the screenshot. Enter your RPTU account name in the User name field and click on Done.
5. close the account settings by clicking on Exit.
6. your account is now set up in Thunderbird.
7. the first time you open your email account in Thunderbird, your existing folders will not be displayed as they are not automatically imported. To subscribe to the folders, right-click on your e-mail address and then click on Subscribe.
8. select the folders as shown in the picture and also the folders you have created yourself. Click on the OK button to subscribe to the folders.
Remove e-mail addresses
1. open the Thunderbird settings.
2. click on Account settings.
3. click on the e-mail address to be deleted and then on Account actions.
4. then click on Remove account.
5. another window opens. If you want to keep your e-mails, leave the Delete message data item blank. Click on the Remove button to remove your e-mail address.
Error during setup: The incoming mail server is already in use
If you receive this error message, your e-mail account has already been set up in Thunderbird.
Please remove the old configuration and make sure that no important data is present.
