28.6.25 Accessibility: grace period ends
Dear editors,
On June 28, 2025, the grace period of the Accessibility Reinforcement Act (BFSG), which came into force in July 2022, ends.
On this occasion, we would like to remind you once again of your obligations in the context of the central website at RPTU.
The following applies to TYPO3 websites in the central system:
Imprint, privacy policy and the declaration on accessibility are provided centrally. Cookie consent is not required because we collect statistics without cookies and internally. You do not have to worry about anything.
However, additional obligations remain with you as the site owner:
Accessibility: All content on your website (including downloads) must be accessible!
This concerns, among other things
- Text alternatives for images and videos
- correct heading structure
- comprehensible link texts.
- sufficient contrast ...

Forms: If you integrate your own forms, you must check whether additional information is required in the privacy policy.
Social media: If you link to social media profiles that are not named in the central "Data protection and social media" page, you must add these yourself.
Please take these requirements seriously - with the end of the grace period, you can expect checks for the first time.
