Eduroam on Apple iOS

IMPORTANT: If you have previously configured eduroam with a profile, proceed as follows:

  1. Please delete the old profile under Settings -> General -> Profiles
  2. Under Settings -> Wifi, click on the i symbol behind eduroam and select "Ignore this network" in the following dialog.
  3. It is now important to restart the iPhone/iPad and only install the profile as described below after the restart.

Configuration

1. please go to the website cat.eduroam.org, preferably using the Safari browser

2. click on the "Download installation program" button

3. search here for"RPTU Kaiserslautern Landau" and then select the organization

Tip:
If "Rheinland-Pfälzische Technische Universität Kaiserslautern-Landau" is not automatically suggested, enter Kaiserslautern in the search bar and then select "Rheinland-Pfälzische Technische Universität Kaiserslautern-Landau".

4. click on the blue"eduroam" button

5 . allow the configuration profile to be downloaded by clicking"Allow"

6. click on"Close" after downloading

7. then switch to the"Settings" of your iPhone

8. click on the highlighted option"Profile loaded"

Tip:
If this option is not displayed, please go to "General" -> "VPN and device management" and click on the eduroam profile.

9. select"Install" in the profile

10. click on"Install" at the top right and enter your device password/unlock code.

11. now enter your RPTU account (followed by @rptu.de, e.g. mus77ter@rptu.de) and your RPTU password in the following window. Do NOT use your mail alias (e.g. max.mustermann@rptu.de).

12. confirm each time with "Next"

13. the installation can now be completed by clicking on"Done".

 

The profile is now installed and you can connect to eduroam.
