Communigate mailbox in Mozilla Thunderbird

In the following step-by-step instructions, you will learn how to configure your Communigate mailbox with the Thunderbird e-mail program.

Prerequisites

  • You have a Communigate e-mail inbox.

Step 1: Add a new account

Open Mozilla Thunderbird.

Click on the icon with the 3 dashes and select "New account".

Then click on "Existing e-mail address".

Step 2: Set up your e-mail address

Enter your first and last name and your RPTU e-mail address with your RPTU password . Then select "Next".

Step 3: Select configuration

Select "IMAP" and choose "Set up manually".

Step 4: Set up manually

Enter the following values:

Incoming mail server

Protocol: IMAP
Hostname: mail.rptu.de
Port: 993
Connection security: SSL/TLS
Authentication method: Password, normal
User name: Your RPTU email address (e.g.: rainer.zufall@rptu.de)

Outgoing mail server

Hostname: smtp.rptu.de
Port: 587
Connection security: STARTTLS
Authentication method: Password, normal
User name: Your RPTU e-mail address (e.g.: rainer.zufall@rptu.de)

 

Confirm your entry by clicking on "Done". Your Communigate e-mail address is now set up and configured.
