New content element Definition list

Dear Typo3 editors,

We have introduced a new content element for you, the definition list.

The definition list displays terms and their explanations next to each other - similar to a glossary. This makes it easy for visitors to keep track. It is better for accessibility and machine-readable because it correctly identifies content. This is an advantage over tables, which are often used for such purposes but are usually not accessible.

Display of the definition list depending on the available space:

• 100% - the definition list is displayed centered at 60% width.
• 50%, 66%, 75% - output in full width
• 33%, 25% - output one below the other with indented explanations
• mobile - output one below the other with indented explanations

Use:

• Display of terms with explanations or characteristics
• Glossary
• Brief overviews
