Adobe

Adobe offers an extensive range of different software programs.

1. which license(s) do we have?

The Regional University Computing Center (RHRZ) at RPTU has joined a contract between the company Adobe and the Leibnitz Computing Center of the BAdW:

1. For the product "Adobe Acrobat Pro DC":

Since 22.11.2021 we no longer offer licenses for "Adobe Acrobat Pro" under the "AdobeFTE contract".

As an alternative product we offer the product "Master PDF Editor", see our RHRZ software offer under "Software & Licenses".

Note: If you only want to view .PDFs or create them from Word, for example, you do not need either "Adobe Acrobat Pro" or "Master PDF Editor".

However, it is still possible to obtain "Adobe Acrobat Pro",

- either by purchasing a paid Creative Cloud license from our "Point Consortium - Contract" (see below),

- or via the CLP contract on the asknet RHRZ software portal.

2. For the product "Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps Pro FTE":

Here we have joined the "Adobe-Point Consortium contract" between Adobe and the Leibniz Supercomputing Center of the BAdW.

Within this contract, we can provide all employees at RPTU and employees of affiliated institutes who place a corresponding order with us with immediate effect with Adobe "Creative Cloud All Apps Pro FTE". This does NOT apply to students.

The current contract runs from 23.11.2022 to 22.11.2025.

We will no longer be able to offer other Adobe products.

This means that anyone who only wants to use Photoshop in the future, for example, will have to fall back on the "Creative Cloud All Apps Pro FTE".

The company Crayon has been appointed as an authorized dealer.

The Adobe software products listed in the order form can be purchased at the rental prices shown there.

However, it is still possible to purchase a few Adobe products as purchase licenses. The offer of this CLP contract, which has become quite manageable in the meantime, can be found on the RHRZ-Software Portal of asknet.

General contractual regulations:

  • The maximum lease term of the licenses is a maximum of three years from the start date (point consortium contract). The licenses are acquired from the order date until the end of the full contract term (until 22.11.2025).
  • The software provided may only be used in accordance with the scope specified in the license conditions.
  • The software may only be installed/used as often as licenses have been purchased. With a license you receive a double installation right, with non-simultaneous use.
  • The software must be uninstalled by you at the end of the contract term, unless we have concluded a follow-up agreement with Adobe and you. Please read the license terms carefully!
  • We offer Adobe products exclusively as a download from the Adobe web portal. You will receive a corresponding e-mail from Adobe after your order has been processed.

All products not included in the contract can be purchased via www.adobe.com, for example.

3. on which hardware can this software be used?

1. this software is intended exclusively for local installation (single user).

2. the software may only be installed on computers that are owned by RPTU (or the participating affiliated institutes). Please note the above-mentioned restrictions regarding "second installation" and "bring your own device" for the "Point Consortium Contract".

3. network licenses are no longer included in the current framework agreement

4. this software is not made available for use on our central RHRZ servers. We also do not offer virtualization for cost reasons.

4. how can you order/receive the software?

  • order the software of the "Point-Consortium - Contract" via the order form.

As soon as we have assigned you a license after your order (Point Consortium), you will receive a corresponding e-mail from Adobe at your RPTU e-mail address.

After that, please install ONLY the "Enterprise License" offered by Adobe from the Adobe website, which already contains our Adobe contract data (serial number). In this case, you will not be asked to enter a serial number or similar until the end of the contract period. Please do NOT install an Adobe version from the RHRZ download portal.
