Sohpos Home Premium

for students and self-administered systems

As a member of the RPTU, you can use Sophos Home (Premium). To do this, you must register with an e-mail address at RPTU (domain rptu.de or uni-kl.de) on the following page:

https://home.sophos.com/employee

You will receive an e-mail from Sophos with further information, including how to download the software. With your Sophos Home instance, you can manage up to ten end devices. You can add further devices using the "Add Device" function.

 

Note: Sophos may also offer the option to install "Sophos Intercept X for Mobile". This is a stand-alone and free product that is independent of Sophos Home. In particular, settings for mobile devices cannot be controlled via Sophos Home.

Sophos Intercept X Advanced

for administrators

If you are an administrator responsible for several client and/or server systems at RPTU and use Sophos Endpoint here, you can control these systems via a separate client in the Sophos backend. The most important functions of the backend are

  • Overview of all Sophos alerts and events, each classifiable and searchable.
  • In the event of a malware attack: Analysis of malware activities (also as a graphical overview)
  • Overview of all protected devices and accounts
  • A Sophos client customized for your client is provided via the backend.
  • ...

The security guidelines are predefined in the client and cannot be changed. If it is necessary to adapt these in your area, we can activate this for you after consultation.

 

You can submit the request to set up a client via the ticket system with the following information:

  • The area you manage as an administrator (workgroup, faculties, central institution, ...)
  • First and last name and e-mail address of you and any other administrators
  • Ticket subject: "Sophos client"

 

Alternatively, as an administrator you can initially receive access to a test client for a limited period of 14 days. Here you can familiarize yourself with the backend without obligation. Please submit a ticket request with the following information:

  • First and last name and your e-mail address
  • Ticket subject: "Sophos test access".

Note: Access to the test client will be deleted after 14 days without consultation.

The "old" Sophos solution expires on July 20, 2023 and should be replaced by this new Sophos version.
An upgrade is not possible.
