End of support Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2

Support for Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 will end on October 10, 2023. After this date, these products will no longer receive security-related updates, bug fixes, technical support or online updates for technical content.

This means that systems with the above-mentioned installations will be considered insecure from this date and represent potential security risks, which is why the Regional University Computing Center Kaiserslautern-Landau (RHRZ) hereby informs you at an early stage that there is an acute need for action in this regard.

Please note that servers with Windows Server 2012 [R2] still running after October 10, 2023 will be blocked on the network side and the computer objects concerned will be deleted from the Active Directory.

Please clarify quickly how you will deal with this issue in your areas of responsibility. We recommend that you do not operate your own server services and use the services offered by the RHRZ.
