News plug-in

After a news item has been created in the list module, it is integrated as a plug-in in the page module . A plug-in is a content element that can be placed on a page like a text element or an image.

10. switch to the Pages module

11. select/create the desired page

12. create a new content element

13. click on the Plug-ins tab

14. select message system

15. select the Plug-In tab

16. enter the ID of the news folder under Starting point . To do this, move the cursor over the previously created news folder and the ID will appear.

17. select the layout Standard: White background under Appearance

Save and click on Show to see the news in the frontend.

More

If you would like to customize the plug-in, you will find an explanation under Plug-in extension options.

News detail page

If a detail page is integrated, the news is displayed there in detail, which has several advantages. If you have a detail page, you can, for example, link to it from several different plugins, regardless of where they are located. Or if you have embedded a small news list on the start page and would not configure a detail page on this plugin, clicking on a news item would open exactly this page with all other content and only display the details of the news item in the place of the list. The detail page makes you more flexible because you can build many more solutions.

18. create and activate new detail page

19. create message system element (see steps 13 and 14)

20. on the Plug-In tab

21. select the output mode under Settings : Detailed view

Attention: Menu automatically jumps back to the General tab

22. go to Extension options and the More settings tab

23. enter the ID of the page with the first message system under Page ID for "Back" link

Save!

A detail page has now been created on which the news can be displayed in detail.

In the next step, the news plug-in is configured on the details page so that only the associated details are displayed when the news is clicked.

24 Now back to the first news system that was created in step 10. Under Page ID for single news view, enter the ID of the page with the second news system.

Save and display!

25. open article in frontend
