Plug-in extension options

The plug-in is already preconfigured. No settings need to be made in order to use it for a website. If required, the plug-in can be configured individually under "Extension options".

Settings

Under "Settings" extension options, you can change the information and thus overwrite the default setting.

Select output mode: Defines the output/display of the news on the website. Choose between e.g. the list view, the detailed view or the date menu.

Sort by: Defines how news is sorted.

Sorting: News is displayed either in ascending or descending order.

Category mode: Here you can select which news items are to be displayed.

Category selection: Select your institution and target group here.

Including subcategories: Check this box if you want subcategories to be displayed.

Archive: Defines whether only archived news or only non-archived news should be displayed.

Note on the archive menu: If you create a plug-in with a date menu and also want to display archived (non-active) news there, the list view to which you refer must also be able to display archived news.

In principle, the date menu must have the same configuration as its list view. In the same way, each plug-in for the detail view must have the same settings as the list view.

Time limit & time restriction: Fill in these fields if you want to display news at a specific time or for a specific period.

Top news items: Select whether all or only top news items should be displayed.

Starting point: Select the news folder of your institution here.

Further settings

Page ID for single message view: Select the page ID here that should appear in single view. It is advisable to create a new page in advance on which this should be displayed.

PageID for list view: Here you link the page ID of the page on which the news list appears.

PageID for "Back" link: Here you also link the page ID of the page on which the news list appears.

Maximum number of data records to be displayed: Here you can define how many news items should be displayed on the page; if you do not enter anything, all items will be displayed.

Hide pagination: If the pagination is hidden, it is not possible to see how many pages are still filled with news.

Entries per page: Select here how many entries should be displayed per page of the pagination.

"Top news" above: News that have been marked as top news via the news pool are displayed above.

Deactivate overwriting of plug-in settings: This checkbox is set automatically. However, if you want the list view to also adopt the information from the date menu, you must uncheck this box.

Template

Under Template layout you can select how the news list should be displayed (e.g. without images etc.).

Top messages: Are highlighted in gray in the frontend.
