Configure news plug-in
A plug-in is a content element that can be placed on a page like a text element or an image.
If you would like to place news on your web pages, editors will be able to create the plug-in for displaying the news themselves in future and adapt it to their own requirements if necessary.
Select the "Page" module and the desired page on which the news should be displayed in the page tree.
Create a new content element and select the "News system" type under the Plug-ins tab.
General: Enter the heading for the page.
The plug-in is already preconfigured, you do not need to change any other settings to be able to use it for your website. You can configure the plug-in according to your wishes under "Extension options".
Extension options "Settings": Here you have the option of changing details and thus overwriting the default setting.
Select output mode: Defines the output/display of the news on your web pages; here you can choose between list view, detailed view or date menu, for example.
Sort by: Defines how news is sorted.
Sorting: The news is displayed either in ascending or descending order.
Archive: Defines whether all, only archived news or only non-archived news should be displayed.
Note on the archive menu: If you create a plugin with a date menu and also want to display archived (non-active) news there, then the list view to which you refer must also be able to display archived news. Basically, the date menu must have the same configuration as its list view, and every plugin for the date view must have the same settings as the list view.
Time limit & time restriction: Fill in these fields if you want to display news at a specific time or for a specific period.
Top news: Select whether all or only top news should be displayed.
Starting point: Select the news folder of your institution here.

Hide pagination: If the pagination is hidden, it is not possible to see how many pages are still filled with news.
Entries per page: Select here how many entries should be displayed per page of the pagination.
