Here is an explanation of all the options:
- Copy All Mail To: This option must be activated for redirection to be active. You can therefore set the redirection and switch it on or off at any time.
- Email: Your private e-mail address must be entered in this field. However, you can also enter several e-mail addresses. These must then always be separated by a comma.
- Keep the Original: If this option is not activated, all forwarded e-mails are not saved in the inbox. If the forwarding destination does not accept the mail, the mail will be lost, so it is better to always activate this option.
- Do not Copy Automatic Messages: If you do not want automatically generated emails to be forwarded, such as out-of-office notifications, you must activate this option.
- Action: There are three different options here. If Send on behalf of this Account is selected, the sender address is rewritten to your address and the original sender is not displayed. If Keep the Original sender Address is selected, the emails are redirected with the original sender address (recommended). If Send unchanged Copy is selected, the emails are mirrored. This can lead to problems with authentication, so this option is not recommended.
Important: When you have finished configuring everything, you must press the blue button in the top right-hand corner.
As with e-mail forwarding, the out-of-office assistant can be switched on and off. You can set an end date for the absence and enter an automatic e-mail reply. At the end of the absence, you should not forget to switch the assistant off again. You should also press the Clear 'Replied Addresses' list button before and after each absence phase to be on the safe side.
Important: You should also press the green Save button in the top left-hand corner at the end.
Filter configuration
The e-mail web app also has a filter function. This allows you to move incoming emails directly to a selected folder or delete unwanted emails directly. You can do a lot with filters. However, the options should be used with care, as all filter rules are executed automatically without prompting.
