General information
ORCID, the abbreviation for"Open Researcher & Contributor iD", is a unique identification system for scientists.
This iD makes it possible to clearly assign research activities and results to a person regardless of name matches or different spellings.
The ORCID iD has reached international standard and is used by numerous publishers and scientific organizations.
Requirements
- RPTU account
Brief information

You will then be redirected to the ORCID website to link your iD.
If you already have an ORCID iD, you can continue with step 2b "If you have an ORCID iD".
If you do not yet have an iD, follow the steps below to create an account with ORCID.
You then select who may have read access to your ORCID iD and the data stored there.
You can individually select one of the following options.
- All. Anyone can see these elements.
- Trusted parties. Only persons and organizations to whom you have granted permission.
- Only me. Elements are private and only visible to you.
- In the last step, you specify whether you would like to receive news from ORCID by e-mail and accept the terms of use. This completes the registration process.
The steps in point 2b are no longer necessary, the further steps are described in point 3 "Authorize ORCID data access for RPTU account management".
