Description
Overleaf Community Edition (still known to many as"ShareLaTeX") is an open-source, collaborative online LaTeX editor.
The new Overleaf CE instance at overleaf.rarp-kl.de will soon replace the old instance of RHRZ at sharelatex.rz.rptu.de.
These instructions will help you to migrate your existing projects to overleaf.rarp-kl.de.
Prerequisites:
- RPTU account or account at another college or university of the Rhineland-Palatinate Computer Center Alliance (RARP)
- Existing account on our old Overleaf CE instance(https://sharelatex.rz.rptu.de/)
Step 1: Register for RARP-Overleaf-CE service
In addition to your existing account on our old Overleaf CE instance (https://sharelatex.rz.rptu.de/), you will need to registeron the new instance (http://overleaf.rarp-kl.de/) and create an account.
- If you do not yet have an account for overleaf.rarp-kl.de, follow the instructions for registration.
Step 2: Download existing projects
Log in to our old Overleaf CE instance(https://sharelatex.rz.rptu.de/).
- Go to the "Your projects" tab on the left-hand side [1].
- Select all the projects you want to migrate [2].
- Click on the download button at the top right [3].
Step 3: Unzip the downloaded file
- Unzip the downloaded file "Overleaf Projects (# items)" (under Windows, right-click on it and select "Extract All").
You should now have a normal folder with several ZIP files in it (one for each of your projects). Each project file is a single, compressed ZIP file named like the project.

If it looks like this, you have unpacked too many times. Simply unpack the originally downloaded archive with the name "Overleaf Projects (# items)" once.
If you have downloaded a single project directly by clicking on the smaller download button next to the project, you may not need to unpack anything.
